Default Art's ride for 2010

Joe and I have been busy putting together a new Olds Calais to run this year and using this car as a bit of practice so we can finish my '71 Olds. Joe will continue to drive the W-31 in Pro this year and I will drive the new Olds Calais in Super Pro. When our points season is over Joe will make licensing runs and take over driving the Calais in 2011.

Engine is a 13:1 stroker smallblock Olds displacing 370ci (4.100 x 3.500) backed by a TH400 w/brake, 5500 stall continental converter and 9" ford.

The new car was acquired from Jay Cason who had it hidden away in his garage for several years. The car was a mess and required extensive rework to get it in running shape. Joe and I have been working round the clock for the last 3-4 weeks rebuilding every square inch of the car to make sure it was safe and reliable. We did some new interior sheetmetal, dash, new lexan, new wheelie bars and spoiler and interior work. We rebuilt the struts, brakes and entire front & rear suspension. We rebuilt the rearend and installed new gears with parts supplied by San Diego Gear and Axle. New brake lines, new ignition system, new fuel system and new cooling system. We did all the bodywork and the paint was applied by Elite Fleet Auto & Truck Body. Cliff Whynaught freshened up the TH400 transmission for us. Competitive Metals supplies the steel and aluminum we needed and CPWeld did extensive watercutting of parts such as the motorplate, rearend brackets, coil mount, exhaust flanges, wheelie bar cages, etc. etc. The engine will be finished in a couple of weeks and most all of the the engine parts were supplied by Olds Performance Products and all machining was performed by Nutech Engine Systems.

I would like to thank Jay Cason our Track Manager at the Barona Dragstrip for giving Joe and I the opportunity to build this car. (Stay safe Jay!!)

Joe and I would like to especially thank...
Andy Miller from Olds Performance Products, Suffern NY
Britt Bostick from Nutech Racing Engines in Ramona, CA
Paul Wagner from Elite Fleet Auto and Truck Body, Spring Valley CA
Cliff Whynaught from CW Performance Transmissions, Oceanside CA
Steve Humphreys from CPWeld Certified Precision Welding, Poway CA
Steve Zimmerman from San Diego Gear & Axle, El Cajon CA
Greg Parker from Competitive Metals, El Cajon CA

They have all donated or greatly discounted products and/or services to help Joe and I finish this car and without their help this car would not even be closed to being finished.

Here are some of the first pics we have taken this afternoon. We have pretty much finished the car and drivetrain and should have the engine finished in about 2 weeks.

Beautiful car i am glad to see you guys are going to try and take the Wins in both classes now

If you need any help with your electronics throttle stop and just some help being consistent on the top bulb let me know i would be glad to help.

It does remind me of Chag's Beretta too...
